 Red Cross Benefit concert
« Thread Started on Apr 25, 2005, 11:49am »

Hi all, Just wanted to say, that I thoroughly enjoyed the concert on Friday night in Ogden. It was worth traveling 1120 miles to get to see. I left Great Falls at 3:00 am, got into Ogden at noon, and had to wait till 7:25 or something to get the concert started, but it was worth it. I didn't get to the Riverton concert :'( partly because the price of gas being so high, and motels aren't cheap either. Money ran a little short.

They only problems were that the speaker cut out a couple times on one side of the stage, more distracting than anything, as you could still hear everything fine from the other speaker, and I wondered if the guys were having a hard time hearing each other. I noticed Kevin took his ear phone out a few times.

I have extremely sensitive ears for intonation, and normally I have absolutely nothing but praise for these guys. Friday, was, well, maybe a little rough. I am a musician too, so I know that if accustics aren't just so, it is sometimes hard to hear, and that is probably what happened. Even so it was a fantastic show, and an awesome experience. People that know me, will know that by my saying it was fabulous, exciting, wonderful, amazing, (especially Kevin's percussion solo in Zoot Suit Riot) unbelievable....even with some intonation issues, they must really be great. Usually even tiny intonation problems make me cringe and get critical. This is a whole new experience for me. (I find myself excusing intonation problems :o wow.) That has never happened before. You guys... "Eclipse" are amazing. God Bless you. Thanks for an amazing evening. :D (and I sincerely hope I didn't hurt anyones feelings, :-/ that was not my intention)

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself!

I definitely know what you are talking about when you say gas and hotels aren't cheap!

Hopefully you will be able to see them perform again soon!

I am so sorry that we didn't get to meet you personally. I am glad that you enjoyed the concert. I wish I knew what you looked like, so if I saw you, I would have said hi. We were the girls behind the table helping the guys sell the cds and merchandise. Court aka as beatlesfan79 was the gorgeous looking one with red hair. Kim, the other gorgeous one, was in the middle, and I was the one with the brown skin, dark hair.

Hopefully next time, we willl get to meet you.

Hi Vee, I thought, after I was already there, that I should have worn my University of Montana shirt that I had with me. But it was warm that day, and it is a sweatshirt, so I chose the other one. Dumb huh? I bet maybe that would have given me away. Anyway, I imagine you saw lots of people buying stuff, but I was the "older" lady (boy that hurt!) that bought a t-shirt, and the Three Kings cd. From you I am pretty sure, and I think I said it was the only cd I didn't have yet. I thought it might seem weird for someone to buy only the holiday one, in the middle of April.

By older, I mean, older than the guys, (even Kirk) but no where near retirement yet. I was, as a matter of fact, in high school in the 80's. Barely. I graduated in 1981. Didn't want you to think I had purple hair yet or anything. Ok, it is kinda grey, but still mostly brown. (I think, unless I am in denial.) Ha Ha lol ...

It was kinda funny, because I am also kinda shy, so, the fact that I got brave enough to actually talk to the guys is amazing, (that isn't the funny part) ... anyway I said to Kirk that I liked the "five boys and a man" thing and I told him that I am even older than he is. At least according to the For Show cd when he said he was in High School in 1985. I told him that I was having my first baby in 1985, and, I think it was Shayne, ? said "what were you doing having a baby when you were still in high school?" Usually, I think of smart alec responses pretty quick for an "old" person, but I said I was 23 when I had him. (which was a lie, I was only 22 for two more months.) Later I came up with a better one. "You are so cute" or maybe "I beg your pardon, I had my first child in elementary school." Of course, that second one is a total lie, though he is kinda cute, aren't they all?... Young, but cute. So, yeah... I'll let you all do the math and you should be able to come up with an age for me now.

Next time I get to a concert, I'll have to wear my "UM" sweatshirt... Or hold up a sign that says, It's me.. Then when I actually talk to you again we will know we are talking to each other! And maybe we will say more than a price, and thank you...

I guess I'm a doofus ... First of all, I don't get on here as much as I should, and second of all had no idea that Suzie had driven all the way down from MT! In my opinion, if you drive that far and there are intonation problems, no matter how minor, you can definitely say something! ;D

So what are you saying Kirk, that if I had told you ahead of time that I drove all the way from Montana, just to hear you guys sing, you would have sung in tune better? ;) Just kidding! It really was awesome regardless of what was, I think, more of a "hearing each other" issue, than anything else. And yeah, if you had been on here more often, you would have known someone from Montana was coming. :D

Thanks for replying, and by the way, my son, Ryan, the one that I said was going to take one of your places one day? He's starting his own group, so you don't have to worry. (As if you had to in the first place.. ha ha) I guess he has been communicating with Shayne a little about using other peoples music and what not. (rules and stuff)So, anyway,

See ya again someday. Sooner rather than later I hope. Maybe I can bring the kid next time. If he isn't already back to college before I get time off again. I'm on vacation again right now, got anything this week or next?

Suzie :D
